‘Attacks brought a bad name to Karnataka’

Staff Reporter

Bangalore: The recent incidents of violence against Christians and vandalism of churches have brought “a bad name to Karnataka both within the country and around the world,” said H.T. Sangliana, Member of Parliament.

Mr. Sangliana said that people around the world were “pained by the atrocities against Christians in Karnataka, a State known for its tolerance.” Even as he spoke of the “imaginary fears of radical elements” as fuelling these incidents of violence, Mr. Sangliana said: “We should withdraw all the cases lodged with the police.” Such a gesture would send a message that “we do not see the perpetrators of violence as enemies.”
