Mutton, beef seized

HYDERABAD: Large quantity of mutton and beef being illegally sold on Gandhi Jayanti day was seized and 56 cases were booked by the veterinary wing of GHMC on Thursday.

About 520 kg mutton, 360 kg animal parts, 60 kg beef and 13 skins were among the material seized from different places like Karwan, Ameerpet, Charminar, Nampally, M.J. Market, Lallaguda, Sitaphalmandi, etc.

Chief Veterinary Officer P. Venkateshwara Reddy said that five special teams with police escorts scoured through various to ensure the ban on sale of meat and other material was effective.
