CHENNAI: The Gram Sabha meeting of the Karampakkam panchayat in Tiruvallur district on Thursday witnessed the presence of Local Administration and Rural Development Minister M.K. Stalin.
He took part in the deliberations and sought the accounts of the village panchayat for financial year 2007-2008.
When he came to know that the accounts had not yet been audited, Mr. Stalin wanted action to be taken against those concerned.
He ordered the coverage of 27 eligible self-help groups under the revolving fund scheme.
“Provide pattas”
He advised Collector Rajendra Kumar to settle the long-pending matter of issuing pattas to people in Gandhi Nagar and Annai Anjugam Nagar of Karampakkam. He also called for immediate action to upgrade panchayat union roads in Chettiar Agaram.
K. Ashok Vardhan Shetty, Principal Secretary (Rural Development and Panchayat Raj), accompanied the Minister.
