“Deal will help only U.S. economic crisis”

Special Correspondent

CHENNAI: CPI national secretary D. Raja on Thursday said the Indo-U.S. nuclear deal would only help the U.S. to bail out its economy that was going through a crisis.

“The U.S. military and industrial establishment is very particular that the deal gets through. It views India as a big market. It will make use of the deal and sell the reactors. The investment by India will help the U.S. to bail out its economy,” he said.

Mr. Raja also rejected the argument that the nuclear deal was not bound by any conditions.

“On the contrary it will be bound by the Hyde Act and other national laws of the U.S.,” he added.

“We will continue to oppose the deal because it is not in the interest of our country,” he said.
