Bonus sought

BANGALORE: Newly appointed Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president R.V. Deshpande has urged the UPA Government to grant bonus along with the minimum support price to farmers during the procurement of paddy. He said the Centre recently increased the procurement price of over 20 agricultural commodities, including paddy. In view of the declining profitability of agriculture, increasing risk, degradation of natural resources has created serious crisis among the paddy farmers. — Special Correspondent
