Charge against Acharya

Special Correspondent

Bangalore: Stating that Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa is clinging on to power with the support of the Veerashaiva community, the former State unit president of the Bharatiya Janata Party and MLC A.K. Subbaiah has alleged that the Sangh Parivar has been making efforts to implement its hidden agenda through its cadre man — Minister for Home V.S. Acharya.

He told presspersons here on Friday that it was known that the Veerashiva community had played a major role in installing Mr. Yeddyurappa. Mr. Yeddyurappa could never be at the command of the Sangh Parivar and he was the last person to take orders from the communal outfit. On the contrary, Dr. Acharya is a known Sangh Parivar person, he claimed.

The Veerashiva community had always believed in propagating and practising the philosophy propounded by Basaveshwara. But the Sangh Parivar philosophy was nowhere near the philosophy of Basaveshwara. The rivalry between the Veerashaiva community, that has been supporting Mr. Yeddyurappa, and the Sangh Parvar elements in the BJP is surfacing of late, he said.
