Kakinada: V.S. Lakshmi Engineering College for Women, an institution of Lakshmi Education Society, will be inaugurated by Chairman of Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education K.C. Reddy at Matlapalem located between Kakinada and Yanam on October 4. JNTU-Kakinada Vice-Chancellor Allam Appa Rao will preside over the function. The college has been approved by the All India Council of Technical Education and is affiliated to the JNTU. The intake of students will be 90 each for ECE, CSE and IT courses and 30 for EEE. “It is the first women’s engineering college in the district whose focus will be on institution-industrial interaction,” Chief Executive Officer V. Sitarama Raju stated in a press release. The college committee has V. Sandhya as chairperson, V.V. Krishnam Raju vice-president, P. Somasekhar secretary, L. Seshu Kumari, M.V. Bharata Lakshmi, P. Hema Madhuri and V. Subbalakshmi as members. DJPN Reddy is the chief of operations and K, Chandra Bhushana Rao principal.
