4 feared drowned

CHENNAI: Four youths were feared drowned near the Marina on Thursday evening.

According to police, Rajasekhar alias Raja (26), Santhosh Kumar (22), Prabhakaran (23), Prem Kumar (18), Vinod Kumar (21) and Vigneswaran (21) of Thoraipakkam, employed in a private firm , went to the beach. While Vigneswaran remained on the shore, others went for a swim. A few minutes later, a rough tide pulled them into the sea. Vigneswaran raised an alarm drawing the attention of some local fishermen, who rushed to the rescue of the victims.Though the fishermen managed to pull out two youths, Rajasekhar, Santhosh Kumar and Prabhakaran were feared drowned.
