Government to consider quota for disabled

RELIEF: U. Mathivanan, Dairy Development Minister, giving away assistance to a physically challenged woman in Tirukkuvalai on Saturday.
NAGAPPATTINAM: The State Government will consider demands made by the disabled to provide 5 per cent reservation in government jobs, Dairy Development Minister U. Mathivanan said at Tirukkuvalai on Saturday.
Distributing awards for disabled persons who had performed well in different fields, the Minister said that all the petitions including the increase in number of holidays by 10 days and reservation for the disabled would be taken up by the State government at the earliest.
Collector M. Jayaraman said that a special hall would be allotted for the disabled in the Collectorate,
