Three Indians in finals

New Delhi: Chetan Anand and Arvind Bhat set up a title clash after notching contrasting wins in the men’s singles semifinals of the Bitburger Open badminton in Germany on Saturday.

Fourth seed Chetan laboured to a 21-14, 16-21, 21-13 win over 15th seed Peter Mikkelson of Denmark in a 40-minute contest.

In contrast, seventh seed Arvind had no trouble beating 12th seed German Bjorn Joppien 21-19, 21-7 in 27 minutes.

In the women’s singles, Aditi Mutatkar stunned second seed Juliane Schenk 21-14, 21-16 to enter the final. — PTI
