Akhil, Anfal bag five each

KOCHI: Two spinners, Central Zone’s leggie M.S. Akhil and North’s offie P.M. Anfal, with five wickets each, along with Combined Districts’ Monish Jayan (95) and South’s Akshay (94), hogged the limelight in the State under-19 inter-zone cricket championship here on Saturday.

The scores (two-dayer):

South 258 for eight in 70 overs (Akhil Viswanath 49, Akshay 94, M.S. Akhil five for 50, Jibinlal three for 85) v Central 87 for four in 20 overs (Rohit Rajaneesh 43) at St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery.

Combined Districts XI 254 in 66.3 overs (Monish Jayan 95, Sachin 54, P.M. Anfal five for 27, Yashin Joher four for 60) v North 98 for no loss in 21 overs (Shafeeq Hassan 56 n.o.) at BPCL Kochi Refinery Ground, Ambalamugal. — Principal Correspondent
