Sunil fashions KSCA win

Chennai: Off-spinner Sunil N. Raju’s five wickets for 18 runs helped KSCA inflict a 177-run defeat on Andhra on the fourth and final day of the inter-State South Zone under-22 cricket match for the P. Ramachandra Rao Trophy on Saturday.

KSCA declared its second innings at 306 for seven, with skipper Ganesh Satish and Dhananjaya Murari scoring half-centuries.

Five runs were added to Andhra’s first innings score after KSCA’s batsmen ran on the wicket, revising Andhra’s target to 292.

Sunil claimed three wickets in his seventh over, and one each in his eighth and nine overs, conceding no run, to engineer Andhra’s collapse.

The scores:

KSCA 372 & 306 for seven decl. in 49 overs (Dhananjaya Murari 69, Ganesh Satish 82, Amit Verma 41) bt Andhra 387 & 114 in 47.2 overs (B. Sumanth 57, Sunil N. Raju five for 18). KSCA: 5 points.
