McGain vows to make a comeback

Melbourne: His dreams of making a Test debut during his maiden India tour might have met with a tragic end, but gritty leg-spinner Bryce McGain says he would make a comeback to the international arena soon.

The 36-year-old had injured his shoulder first during the Australia ‘A’ tour and later aggravated it while training on Tuesday for the four-day clash against an Indian Board XI.

“Through my entire career that’s what it is all about, playing against the best, duels against the best.

“Unfortunately it isn’t my time but I believe there is a reason for everything and maybe one day I will find out what it is. I can’t think of it at the moment but that will all pan out, I guess, down the track.

“I will go home, rest up, rehab and reload again and be ready to go,” McGain was quoted as saying in the Herald Sun. — PTI
