Bhopal: Five Railway Police Force personnel were on Saturday suspended and an attempt to murder case was registered against seven of their colleagues in connection with the assault on BJP MP Virendra Kumar Khatik who opposed the demolition of illegal shops at Bina on Friday. Superintendent of RPF R S Raut suspended T I Vivek Sharma, ASI S K Sharma and three constables. On a complaint by the MP’s representative Gopichand Dasani, an attempt to murder case has been registered against the RPF police station in-charge S S Badgujar, RPF Commandant Sarika Mohan, TI Vivek Sharma and four RPF constables. The condition of Mr. Khatik is stable and out of danger, a doctor attending on him said. The MP was injured when RPF personnel hit him when he was protesting the removal of encroachment from Chhoti Bajaria area near Bina railway station here. Mr. Khatik is now undergoing treatment at the Government Hamidia hospital. Dr D K Verma of the hospital said the MP was out of danger and has been advised complete bed rest.
