The Ganjam district administration has filed cases against nine persons in the Patapur police station for using fake certificates to get appointed as anganwadi workers. It may be noted that the Vigilance Department had also investigated into the allegations of use of fake certificates and had filed an interim report to the district administration. The investigation is still on. Last month five youths were arrested while they were trying to get admitted into the government B.Ed. college at Kanisi on the outskirts of the city by personnel of Golanthara police station. They had used the fake certificates of Berhampur University. The principal of the institute, Maheswar Panda grew suspicious about the authenticity of their certificates and informed the police.
