KOCHI: Rajagiri Higher Secondary School at Kalamassery, in association with Sahara Grace, will organise ‘Fabula 2008’ – an inter-school arts and sports event here from October 23 to 27. Noted lyricist Sarath Chandravarma will inaugurate the event on October 24. Students from Classes 7 to 12 will participate in the programme. Principal Fr. Varghese Manikkanamparambil said that about 1,500 students from nearly 100 schools will converge on the Rajagiri campus, as part of the event. The competitions include football, basketball, general quiz, ganamela and fusion dance. Students in various streams that include CBSE, ICSE, and State will participate in the events. Organisers will provide accommodation and food for the participants. Fr. Manikkanamparambil said that students will play a key role in organising the event. They will also join hands in bringing out Fabula newspaper on the occasion. The aim is to turn the event in to a learning experience, the principal said. A cultural procession will mark the beginning of the event. It will start from North Kalamassery and conclude at the school campus. Mons Joseph, Minister for Public Works, will inaugurate the valedictory on October 27.
