KOCHI: Fisheries Minister S. Sarma has said that the State government would take the initiative in setting up the proposed bottling plant of the Indian Oil Corporation at Puthuvype without affecting the lives of the coastal population. Addressing a meeting held at the guesthouse on Saturday to discuss the issue, Mr. Sarma said that another round of discussions would be held on Monday after visiting the project site based on which a final decision would be reached. At present, LPG is being brought from Mangalore and bottled here. M.K. Purushothaman, MLA, District Collector M. Beena; Additional District Magistrate K.N. Raje; Cochin Port Trust chief engineer J. Karthikeyan; IOC general manager P.M. Nasarudeen and district supply officer T.K. Thankam attended the meeting.
