Fishermen’s plea

A plea to treat fishermen community as most backward and provide 5 per cent reservations was made by leaders of fishermen community on Saturday. According to its leaders, B. Narasinga Rao and P. Nagaraju, fishermen remained neglected. At present fishermen caste is one of the 42 castes that come under BC-A category and because of their backwardness they are unable to compete with the other communities, the leaders pointed out.
