APCLC seeks probe into prisoners’ charge

Andhra Pradesh Civil Liberties Committee (APCLC) on Saturday urged the District and Sessions Judge to order for an inquiry into the reported harassment meted out to the prisoners of Vijayawada district prison by the jail superintendent. In a statement here, president and secretary of the APCLC’s Krishna district unit T. Anjaneyulu and M. Venkateswarlu respectively, said a few prisoners recently sent a requisition to the State Human Rights Commission seeking its intervention to protect them from the superintendent.
