Ugrappa charges Asnotikar with hiding facts from poll panel

Special Correspondent

BANGALORE: Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council V.S. Ugrappa has appealed to Chief Minister B.S. Yeddyurappa and Governor Rameshwar Thakur to dismiss Minister for Fisheries Anand Vasant Asnotikar on charges of misleading the electoral office.

Mr. Ugrappa told presspersons here on Saturday that the Returning Officer of the Karwar Assembly Constituency had reported that Mr. Asnotikar had given incomplete information.

Mr. Ugrappa said Mr. Asnotikar suppressed the fact that he owned 6.58 acres of land in Mudgeri area near Karwar. He owned a hotel in Chitakula that had been undervalued.

“Mr. Asnotikar has committed electoral impropriety,” Mr. Ugrappa alleged.
