RGV to make true-to-life film on Paritala-Suri

Staff Reporter

ANANTAPUR: Ending speculation over his new venture, ace film-maker Ramgopal Varma announced here on Saturday, that he would launch the shooting of a feature film on the faction feud between Paritala Ravi and Maddelacheruvu Suri families in December.

The film would be close to the facts of their lives and rivalry.

Accompanied by his legal aide and acquaintance, Mr. Varma drove straight to the district jail at Reddypalli near here from Bangalore to meet G. Suryanarayana Reddy alias Maddelacheruvu Suri, convict in Jubilee Hills car bomb case and conspiracy accused in the Paritala Ravindra murder case.

With the permission of jail authorities and the court reportedly, to meet Suri, he went into the jail and had a discussion with Suri, one of the two key subjects of his proposed new film, for about two hours. Neither the jail authorities nor Mr. Varma were willing to talk on the latter’s visit.

Later, Mr. Varma went to Maddelacheruvu village in Kanaganapalli mandal and met wife of Suri, G. Bhanumati, a key Congress leader now in Penukonda constituency, and other family members of Suri.

The film-maker was shown the place where the television (TV) bomb had exploded in Suri’s house killing half-a-dozen family members.
