Applications invited for award

CUDDALORE: The State government has instituted the corporate social responsibility award to be given to five industrial, service and commercial establishments every year from 2007-08, according to Collector Rajendra Ratnoo. In a statement released here, Mr. Ratnoo said the award comprised a cash prize of Rs. 5 lakh and a certificate each.

While the awards would be predominantly given for good works done for rural development, commendable works carried out in urban slums would also be considered.

The eligible establishments could send their applications to the Commissioner of Rural Development and Panchayat Raj, Panagal Buildings, Saidapet, Chennai 600 015 on or before October 31.
