Police book five farmers’ leaders
Moga: Five senior Bharti Kisan Union (Ekta) leaders and several others have been booked under the Indian Railway Act for allegedly disrupting rail traffic on the Moga-Ludhiana railway line on October 2 and 3, police said on Sunday.
Senior leaders of the BKU (Ekta), including Sukhdev Singh Kokari, General Secretary, Jhanda Singh Jethake, Vice President, and several others unidentified persons have been booked by Railway Protection Force under the Indian Railway Act, they said. However, no arrests have been made so far.
Kokari condemned the action and warned that if any leader was arrested by the railway police, a State-wide rail traffic blockade call will be given.
