One killed in car-lorry smash
One person was killed in a car-lorry collision near Thottiyam on Saturday. Suresh of Krishnapuram in Namakkal district travelling in the car was killed in the accident. Four more occupants of the car suffered serious injuries and were admitted to Namakkal Government Hospital.
In another incident, Chitradevi (16) of Kattur, a plus two student of a local school was killed when she was knocked down by a government bus while crossing the road on Saturday evening. Chitradevi suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the government hospital, but she succumbed en route.
