Staff Reporter

20-year-old Mohammed Asif Pasha was kidnapped on Saturday

Police suspect Pasha’s neighbour to be involved in the crime

Youth forcibly taken to isolated place in suburbs

HYDERABAD: An youth, who was kidnapped from Kishanbagh on Saturday night, was found murdered at a hillock in Jirra under Asifnagar police station limits early on Sunday.

Assailants killed 20-year-old Mohammed Asif Pasha, a suitcase maker and resident of Shastripuram in Rajendranagar, by smashing his head with a boulder and later dumped the body at the hillock. Burns were also found on the body. The incident came to light when residents noticed the body on Sunday morning and alerted the police.

Quarrel 3 days ago

Police suspect that Pasha’s neighbour, Mohammed Osman, and his associates could have been involved in the crime as a quarrel ensued between them over a trivial issue three days ago. The two families had lodged separate complaints at the Rajendranagar police station.

However, Osman’s family reportedly bore a grudge against Asif for not appearing before the police to settle the issue. On Saturday night, Osman and his associates traced the youngster at his sister’s house in Kishanbagh and forcibly took him to an isolated place in the suburbs.

Cases booked

They later came to Jirra and eliminated him. Police booked a murder and kidnap cases against the accused and launched a manhunt to nab them.

In a separate incident, a highly decomposed body of an unidentified woman was found in bushes at Bachupally in Dundigal on Sunday. Empty beer bottles were also recovered from the spot.

The body was preserved at Gandhi Hospital mortuary for identification and autopsy.
