Mastan Vali takes over as city Cong. chief

Special Correspondent

GUNTUR: A team of five to six Congress MPs and a Union Minister will embark on a two-day ‘tail-end search’ programme in Andhra Pradesh at Visakhapatnam and Hyderabad on October 10 and 11, according to Youth Congress national president Ashok Tanwar.

At a press conference here on Sunday after Sk. Mastan Vali was sworn in the city Congress president at an impressive meeting, Mr. Tanwar dismissed Chiranjeevi’s Praja Rajyam party as one that will not have any impact and said there were ‘many Chiranjeevis’ in Congress.

Small parties would crumble in no time and only the Congress can withstand the onslaught of communal forces, he said.
