Corrections and Clarifications

Paragraphs six and seven in an article “Zubin Mehta’s dream for India” (“Newscape” page, October 7, 2008) were: “The concerts, he said, were turning into a mini-music festival, the kind India has never been. He praised the interest shown by Mumbai in this regard.

“Speaking of his autobiographical work The Scores of My Life, he said it was first published in German in 2008 and translated in other languages. It is published by Roli Books.”

It should have been “the kind India has never seen” and “published in German in 2006”.

>>In connection with a standalone KBK graphic on “Broadband connectivity in India” (“Business” page, October 3, 2008), the figures for broadband users in Delhi (4,09,057) and Tamil Nadu (4,06,654) are correct. But the position of the bars was inadvertently interchanged.

>>In a report “New Zealand ‘A’ wins, series drawn” (“Sport”, October 7, 2008), it was given as “India ‘A’ bowling: R.P. Singh 6-0- 23-0”, while “New Zealand ‘A’ — 2nd innings” said “A. Redmond c Jadeja b R.P. Singh”. R.P. Singh took the wicket of A. Redmond as mentioned in the New Zealand ‘A’ 2nd innings scores. It was inadvertently left out of the India ‘A’ bowling analysis.

>>The first paragraph of a report “White replaces McGain” (“Sport”, October 5, 2008) should have read: “Cricket Australia has announced that Cameron White would replace Bryce McGain, for the rest of the tour of India ….” The word “replace” was left out in the published report.
