22 p.c. IR: JAC happy, Rosaiah unhappy
Special Correspondent
HYDERABAD: Two per cent out of the 22 per cent interim relief announced by the government on Wednesday to its employees came as a bonus from Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, much to the chagrin of Finance Minister K. Rosaiah and officials.
After two hours of negotiations, Dr. Reddy raised his offer from 13 to 18 per cent whereas leaders of Joint Action Committee of Employees, Teachers & Workers (JAC) sought further hike but were “mentally prepared for 20 per cent” as against their demand for 30 per cent IR, official sources said.
