ON A MISSION: Members of the Karavali Sand Heart team creating the clay sculpture to mark the World Sight Day celebrations in Manipal on Thursday. Manipal: The members of the Karavali Sand Heart Team created a sculpture with clay to encourage people for donating their eyes t the KMC Greens here on Thursday. The programme was organised by the departments of Ophthalmology and Community Medicine of Kasturba Medical College. The sculpture was created to mark the World Sight Day on Thursday. The sculpture depicted the eagerness on the faces of three visually challenged people. Srinath Manipal, Head of Karavali Sand Heart team, said: “These faces reflect their hopes that someday someone will donate eyes and provide an opportunity to see this beautiful world. The flames in the sculpture are an appeal to the people not to burn their eyes but donate them.” Venki Palimar, Ravi Hirebettu and Meera were the other members of the team. Doctors from Kasturba Medical College spoke.
