Montgomery gets five years prison term

NORFOLK: Former Olympic champion and track star Tim Montgomery was on Friday sentenced to five years in prison on heroin charges in Virginia. He will serve the five-year term after he completes a four-year prison sentence he’s serving for a check-fraud conspiracy in New York. — AP
Corrections and Clarifications
An item "Montgomery gets five years prison term" ("Snapshots - Sport"
, October 11, 2008) said that Tim Montgomery was an Olympic champion. Some
readers raised a doubt. He was one, having been a part of the U.S. 4x100m
relay team which won gold in the 2000 Olympics and the 4x100m silver in the
1996 Olympics.
