Congress observes ‘Victory Day’

Special Correspondent

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy has said the Indo-U.S. nuclear agreement has been made possible only because of the UPA government’s single-minded determination.

In a statement here on Saturday, the Opposition Leader termed the agreement a landmark that would set the stage for self-reliance in energy and development. He said the Left parties that had opposed the agreement would have to finally accept this.

The Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee, the district, mandalam and block committees observed “Victory Day” on Saturday to mark the successful signing of the nuclear agreement.
