Case registered against Raja

Staff Reporter

ERODE: A case has been registered against former Minister N.K.K.P. Raja by the Perundurai Police on charges of kidnapping P. Sivabalan.

It was Mr. Sivabalan’s uncle P.C. Guhamani, who, a couple of months ago, filed a habeas corpus petition before the Madras High Court alleging that the former Minister had kidnapped his family members with the intention of forcefully acquiring a family land near Perundurai.

The police have registered the case following a complaint from Mr. Sivabalan’s mother P. Malarvizhi, who has alleged that her son is under Mr. Raja’s custody.

Meanwhile, the Deputy Superintendent of Police, Perundurai, V. Ramasamy, has been transferred to Vallioor sub-division in Tirunelveli district.

His transfer was made a couple of weeks after the Perundurai inspector was transferred.
