4 women die, man hurt in lightning

KRISHNAGIRI: Four women died and a man was injured when lightning struck them on Saturday evening in a rural part of Krishnagiri district.
A goat was also killed in the incident. The animal died on the spot, sources here said.
The incident occurred at Ullitti village under the Sulagiri police station limits.
Police said the deceased were Pushpa (25), Geetha (22), Thurvasamma (40) and Saradha (25).
It is said that lighting struck them when they were working near a tamarind tree in a field.
Injured
Murugesan, who was also at the place, was injured.
All of them are from Peria Alangiri village.
