Pass resolution on Arunachal: Advani

PASSI GHAT (ARUNACHAL PRADESH): Against the backdrop of China’s claim on Arunachal Pradesh, BJP leader L.K. Advani on Saturday said Parliament should pass a resolution to emphasise that the State is an integral part of India and that New Delhi would not compromise on national sovereignty. “Let China know that India will not and cannot compromise on national sovereignty,” he said. Mr. Advani, who was on a day-long visit here, said Parliament should pass a resolution stating that Arunachal, including Tawang, is an integral part of India.

China has been laying claim over entire Arunachal Pradesh and its troops have often been transgressing into the State to demonstrate its claim. Mr. Advani said the 21st century belonged to India and Arunachal would have a major stake in the success of the country. — PTI
