No evidence to suggest role of locals in twin blasts

HYDERABAD: Aneeq Sayeed and Akbar, arrested members of the alleged terrorist outfit Indian Mujahideen, reportedly told their interrogators that they had not taken any help in carrying out the twin blasts in Hyderabad last year.
The duo was among the 20 members of the IM module recently busted by the Mumbai police. They admitted to their involvement in the twin blasts in Hyderabad.
Unlike earlier terrorist attacks -- the suicide bomber attack on Commissioner’s Task Force office and the explosion in Mecca masjid -- no Hyderabadi was directly involved in the twin blasts, police sources said.
However, different terrorist outfits and modules were behind these attacks. While absconding Riyaz Bhatkal, the alleged mastermind plotted the twin blasts.
The Improvised Explosive Devices were made in Karnataka.
He assigned the ‘task’ to Sayeed and Akbar, who came to Hyderabad.
Teams of Andhra Pradesh police camping in Mumbai to interrogate the accused said it would take some more days to bring them to the city for further investigation as their ‘involvement’ in terror attacks in other cities was yet to be completed.
