KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal (Prachanda) on Saturday formally requested the former general-secretary of CPN (United Marxist Leninist), Madhav Kumar Nepal, to be “actively involved in politics”. Mr. Dahal requested Mr. Nepal to take lead in a committee to run the government, coordinate the Constituent Assembly Rules and Regulations Drafting Committee or take part in the sub-elections. Mr. Nepal, who has been quite vocal in criticising Maoists’ activities, told reporters that he would take a decision after discussing the proposals with his party members. He also stressed that an environment should be first created for the “active role” if he is to take one. Mr. Nepal had resigned as general-secretary after losing in the CA elections held earlier this year.
