Mega craze: Youth climb a hoarding to have a glimpse of Praja Rajyam president Chiranjeevi in Vizianagaram on Sunday. —

VIZIANAGARAM: Praja Rajyam Party founder Chiranjeevi has said that his party, though has no money and muscle power, has the support of people and is ready to weather any storm. “When you people have reposed faith in me where is the need for me to inform other parties,” he asked, referring obviously to the Left parties’ eagerness to know about his agenda.

Addressing wayside meetings during his two-day ‘Praja Ankita Yatra’ that began in the district on Sunday,

Chiranjeevi, while hinting categorically at not having any truck with other parties, asked “Won’t they join hands if the policies and programmes of the PRP doesn’t suit them?” Development is possible if only all worked together, he observed, adding, he is answerable to people and not to political parties because he has the people’s support.

If any one questions him, the people were there to answer them suitably, he said amidst thunderous applause from milling crowds at the fort junction here.

He said that he would implement any order of the people.

Word of caution

“People’s agenda is my agenda,” he added. The actor-turned-politician asked people to tread cautiously as the government had been coming out with deceitful schemes on the eve of elections. He has also taken a dig at the government for the irregularities in NREGP. He criticised the State Government for acquiring thousands of acres of agriculture lands of the poor farmers and allotting them to “Bada Babus” in the name of development at throwaway prices. “How is it justified? The days have gone and the PRP will fight for their cause,” he said. Chiranjeevi called upon youth to unite for eradicating corruption at high places.

During the last four years assets of political leaders multiplied and they were pocketing the benefits of the people, he said. His main aim, he said was to serve the people.
