Short Film Centre to be set up in Goa

Special Correspondent

It will offer film-makers a chance to showcase their work to buyers and funding agencies

PANAJI: The Entertainment Society of Goa (ESG), the Goa Government’s entertainment division which organises the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), will set up a Short Film Centre (SFC) to coincide with the IFFI-2008.

The proposed SFC will be the first initiative by the IFFI organisers to bring short film-makers, buyers, festival organisers and funding agencies on one film business platform, said sources in the ESG here on Sunday.

The first edition of the SFC will be held between November 23 and December 1.

Competitions

The SFC would offer short film-makers a chance to showcase their work to buyers, funding agencies and festival organisers as well as an opportunity to gain experience and win awards by participating in a wide range of competitions, the sources said.
