YSR announces sops for weavers

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy addressing the bereaved family members of powerloom weavers in Karimnagar district on Sunday.

SIRCILLA (KARIMNAGAR DT): Chief Minister Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy announced sops for the relief and rehabilitation of powerloom weavers of Sircilla, who are in dire straits following the introduction of jet and auto looms.

He visited Sircilla on Sunday and consoled the families of powerloom weavers, who committed suicide due to unemployment and increasing debts. He interacted with the widows and others along with Ministers P. Sabitha Indra Reddy, T. Jeevan Reddy, J. Ratnakara Rao, Government Whip D. Sridhar Babu and local legislator Ch Rajeshwara Rao.

He inaugurated the Rajiv Arogyasri health camp organised for powerloom weavers and their families at the Government Junior College grounds.
