Murthy downs Manudev

BANGALORE: Veteran BVS Murthy made short work of much fancied I.H. Manudev 70-24, 68-54, 75-33, 4-81, 50-49 in the quarterfinals of the 39th senior State ranking snooker tournament at the KSBA hall here on Monday.

BVS managed to string a few 20 plus breaks to compile his win. In fact it was Manudev who came up with an impressive 51 in the fifth frame which he won but lost a narrow sixth frame to concede the match.

BVS will play Sajan Bopanna in the semifinals while the other semifinal will be between M.S. Arun and D. Rajkumar.

Snooker (quarterfinals): M.S. Arun bt Vinay Katrela 76(32) – 32, 63(30) – 22, 72(49) – 19, 72(34) – 21; D. Rajkumar bt Ajay Bhushan 34 – 67(30), 69 – 36, 62(48) – 28, 53 – 44(22), 61(38) – 25; Sajan Bopanna bt Balaji Reddy 68(30) – 37, 11 – 58(23), 71 – 39, 62(51) – 79(22), 84(25) – 32, 68 – 38; B.V.S.
