Training for officials begin

Modernisation: Training programme in progress at ELCOT office in Krishnagiri on Monday. –

KRISHNAGIRI: A training programme for Commercial Tax Officials in Krishnagiri district on Linux software began at the ELCOT office in the Collectorate here on Monday.

ELCOT Krishnagiri district manager L. Harikrishnan said that 75 employees were being given training in four batches for three days. Each batch consists of 20 people.The training will be on MS Office, MS Word, MS Excel, CD writing, usage of internet and other computer operations relevant to the department.

On the first day of the training M. Sachidanandan, Assistant Commissioner (Enforcement wing) attended. ELCOT has been entrusted the job of training government officials in open source software Linux in all the districts.

In Krishnagiri, 25 cooperative banks and society staffs were trained in August.

And in September, 15 officials from District Agriculture Department were trained, said Mr. Hariharan.
