HYDERABAD: The principal of Ranga Reddy district Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV), K. Damodar Reddy, has been chosen to participate in the teachers and students exchange programme under the United Kingdom India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI). School component of UKIERI was launched with the aim of contributing to the creation of life-long relationship between young people of the United Kingdom and India and to assist them in meeting their needs to live and operate in a global economy. As part of this, schools in India and UK will work together on mutually agreed collaborative projects in areas such as environmental science, sports, languages and others. Constituted on these lines, Leicester-Hyderabad clusters consist of four schools of the UK and six JNVs of Hyderabad Region. The team visited Rushey Mead Secondary School and John Fernely High School between October 6 and 11. UK delegates Trever Wright from John Fernely and Vanita Ben Patel from Rushey Mead visited the JNV Gachibowli in April this year. They will visit the school again in the third week of November. Kendriya Vidyalaya Kendriya Vidyalayas I and II, Air Force Academy are hosting the swimming and table tennis events of the KVS National Sports from October 14 to 17 at the Air Force Academy, Dundigal. Boys and girls from 18 regions of the KVS ranging from Jammu to Chennai will take part under various categories.
