Bishop Heber College advances
TIRUCHI: Bishop Heber College defeated Government Arts College (Ariyalur) 37-8 and booked a place in the semifinals of the Bharathidasan University inter-collegiate (Tiruchi division) basketball tournament here on Tuesday.
The results: Quarterfinals: Bishop Heber College 37 (Maheshraja 15) bt Ariyalur Government Arts College 8; St. Joseph’s College 34 (Sriram 11) bt Periyar EVR College 17; Karur Government Arts College 45 (Selvakumaran 12) bt Srimad Andavan Arts and Science College 11.
Football trials
The Tiruchi District Football Association will conduct trials to select the under-19 team for the State football championship at Seshasayee Institute of Technology from October 17 to 20.
