Living dangerously: Women carry foodgrains purchased during the two hour relaxation in curfew on Tuesday at Bhainsa.

BHAINSA (ADILABAD DT.): Bhainsa town remained calm and peaceful on Tuesday even as the police continued rounding up suspects in different cases related to the incidents of the last four days.

“We have rounded up about 40 persons suspected to be involved in the many incidents of communal riots that occurred at different places.

About 20 of them have already been produced in the court while we are examining the involvement of the others in these cases. There will be more detentions in the future based on investigations and inquiries,” said Warangal Range Inspector General of Police J. Purnachandra Rao.

Meanwhile, the two hour relaxation in curfew passed off eventless thereby indicating that the situation had improved somewhat.

Authorities however, restricted the relaxation to women and men over 60 years of age besides shopkeepers and fair price shop dealers.

Anxiety writ large on their faces, scores of women poured out on the streets and flocked at fair price shops and other food grain outlets. While most of the families seemed badly in need of rice some of them wanted kerosene.
