It’s me: Tamanna in ‘Ninna Nedu Repu’ Film: Ninna Nedu Repu Starcast: Ravi Krishna, Akshara, Tamanna Direction: Lakshmikant Chenna Lakshmikant Chenna who made Hyderabad Nawabs makes an admirable effort in dishing out an interesting story which at first succeeds in keeping you on your viewing toes by mixing some drama, little comedy and suspense but towards the end throws it away to a thoroughly formulaic treatment. Sometimes good in parts, the film could have been compelling but for the narrative that moves slowly and the songs that pop up exactly like a handful of popcorn from a tub. About the story - it is the crestfallen Vijay (Ravi Krishna) who resolves to end his life and goes to a railway track and stumbles upon a dead body, a mobile phone and a wallet loaded with cash that changes his future and life altogether. The calls that come for Kishore (the dead man) bring him fortune and he gets to meet Kishore’s friend Swapna (Akshara). While life becomes a bed of roses, a threatening call from Purna (Ajay) puts him in a precarious situation. Who is he? Why does he stalk Vijay and how Vijay wriggles himself free from the situations forms the remaining part of the story. Vijay who is eternally bearded in every film looks eminently strange with the image-make over. Tammana appears in a blink and a miss role and her place could have been filled by any other actor. Akshara tries to make an impact with a steamy song and plays Ravi Krishna’s girlfriend. The dialogues are good but very loud. Music is passable. While it’s not a perfectly-crafted production, it’s entertaining enough to see at least once. To be plain and simple it is just an off beat theme that can be termed average. Y. SUNITA CHOWDHARY
