Kathmandu: Three people were killed in a bomb explosion Chandranigahapur of Rautahat District, in the Terai region, on Tuesday. Later, the locals condemned the explosion and protested against the weak security. To contain the situation, the police opened fire; two people were injured. Now, the locals have obstructed the Mahendra Highway. The explosion takes place at a time when the government has requested armed outfits in Terai for talks. Local media reported that the Terai Army and Terai Rastriya Sena claimed responsibility for the explosion. However, Rautahats Chief District Officer said no official claim had been made.
