Watching a film shoot proved costly for him

BANGALORE: A sum of Rs. 80,000 was stolen from the scooter of an unemployed youth when he stopped to watch the shooting of a Kannada movie on Tuesday morning.
H. Anand, a resident of Yeshwanthpur, filed a complaint with the Mahalakshmi Layout police.
Anand’s parents are constructing a house near Yeshwanthpur and he had drawn Rs. 80,000 from the Mahalakshmi Layout branch of Canara Bank to pay for the construction material. He told the police he kept the cash in the compartment of his Honda Activa.
Robbed
An event management company employee was mugged at knifepoint near the New Government Electric Factory (NGEF) on Monday night. Vijay Menon, a resident of Kasturi Nagar, was going home in his car when five armed men waylaid him near the NGEF main gate and took away Rs. 1,000 and his mobile phone, the Byappanahalli police said.
Chain snatched
Two persons snatched a gold chain worth about Rs. 60,000 from a woman at Jyothi Nagar on Monday night.
Dhanalakshmi was on her way home after her evening walk around 8.15 p.m. when two persons waylaid her on 3rd main of Jyothi Nagar and snatched her chain.
