MALAPPURAM: The 26th State conference of the Kerala Panchayat Employees Organisation (KPEO) will be held here on October 21, 22 and 23. Leader of the Opposition Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the conference at the Municipal Town Hall on October 22 morning. He will also honour the employees of the panchayats that won the Swaraj Trophy on the occasion. P.C. Velayudhan Kutty, State president of the KPEO, will hoist the flag on Tuesday morning. Senior leaders of the organisation will be honoured on the occasion. Tiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan, MLA, will inaugurate a seminar on ‘National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme and local civic bodies’ at the Palace Auditorium on Tuesday. K.S. Radhakrishnan, Vice-Chancellor of Sri Sankara University of Sanskrit, Kalady, will inaugurate a debate on ‘Corruption-free civil services’ on Tuesday afternoon. Aryadan Mohammed, MLA, will inaugurate the delegates’ conference on Wednesday afternoon. UDF convener P.P. Thankachan will inaugurate the public meeting on Wednesday evening. KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala will inaugurate the valedictory function on October 23.
