Creation of a pool for temporary placement of Indians returning from abroad with high qualifications in scientific and technical subjects, establishment of a Central Mechanical Engineering Research Institute at Durgapur and a Central Public Health Engineering Research Institute at Nagpur, approval of a project for the production of ceramic and glass articles at the Central Glass and Ceramic Research Institute, development of cultivation and utilisation of medicinal plants are some of the important decisions taken at the meetings of the Board and Governing Body of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research held in New Delhi on October 14 and 15 respectively.
