Congratulations

Congratulations to Paul Krugman on winning the Nobel Prize in economics. It is indeed happy news for the readers of The Hindu. Mr. Krugman’s lucid style has endeared him to many. His strong views against the U.S. policies which resulted in declining social security and healthcare benefits for ordinary citizens, wasteful expenditure on the war in Iraq, ballooning budget deficits, etc., have a direct bearing on the common man.

Mr. Krugman is an outstanding economic theorist. The Hindu deserves to be thanked for bringing to its readers quality articles from various sources.

Thanks to The Hindu, we were able to read the articles of Mr. Krugman, who foresaw the crisis that was imminent in the ‘market friendly’ economy.

It’s great to hear that a strong critic of neo-liberalisation has been given the Nobel Prize.

D. Venkiteswaran,

Nilambur
